Education
The Academy has formed an association with leading local private school, Saint Stephen’s College (www.saintstephenscollege.net.au), to provide an educational structure for its international and interstate players. Saint Stephen’s College is a private co-educational, multi-denominational, P1 – P12 school.
While there are several other schools in the area, both public and private, Saint Stephen’s College actively supports the Academy’s players to achieve academic excellence while pursuing their tennis potential. Both the school and the Academy work in conjunction to maximize on-court time, while still providing a quality education for each player/student. International student visas can be arranged.
Saint Stephen’s College has an excellent reputation for academic achievement, as well as achievements in the arts and in sport. In recent years over 95% of the College’s graduates went on to obtain a place at a university or other tertiary institution.
Following morning training (08.00-10.30), players change into school uniform at the Academy and are taken by bus to the school (10 minutes away). They are picked up at 15.00 and the afternoon training session starts again at 16.00 (see Academy Training Schedule).
To ensure the juniors keep up with their academic results, every Friday morning the juniors attend an additional special 3hr tutoring session at the Academy by St Stephen's teachers on core subjects of Maths, English and Social Studies.
The Academy and Saint Stephen’s College are currently working on the goal of setting up a satellite campus on-site at the Academy towards the middle of 2009. This would mean that players/students would be able to undertake schooling without the need to leave the Academy grounds. Updates on this are expected shortly.
For Australian interstate players with budget constraints, there is also a State School option offering modified school hours for Academy players. Please contact the Academy for further details.
University
As a product of the US College system themselves, Academy Professionals can personally guide our players from application to acceptance into leading US Institutions. Their wealth of experience has led to an exceptional success rate over the last 5 years.
Academy Professionals assist with eligibility requirements, scholarships, admissions process, progress reports & video presentations for US College Scouts.
